Southampton are pursuing Elche defender David Affengruber, 25, as a replacement for Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who is expected to join Aston Villa. The Saints are in talks with the Spanish club for the Austrian international, who has one cap for his country. It is understood that Elche are willing to allow Affengruber to leave and that the club aims to receive a fee of €12m. There is a suggestion, however, that a deal could be concluded for a lower price of €10m. The defender has two years remaining on his contract at the Spanish side. His current Transfermarkt market value is €20.00m and he has also been linked with several other clubs, including Manchester United, Juventus, and Atlético Madrid.
