During the most recent transfer window, West Brom's James Morrison was interested in recruiting 19-year-old English Aston Villa prospect George Hemmings on loan. The Express & Star reported in July that the Baggies were interested in the midfielder. With the Villains unwilling to approve a permanent transfer, a loan was considered a suitable option for all parties. However, a deal could not be agreed upon, and the move did not advance past the stage of speculation. Albion could renew their interest in January, as Hemmings' playing time might be reduced now that Villa's summer signings are becoming fully integrated and other senior players are regaining fitness, potentially making a loan move viable. According to Transfermarkt, Hemmings has a current market value of €15.00m.
