Southampton have previously attempted to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Luca Reggiani and will attempt to sign him in January. According to BILD's Monday print edition, Reggiani's game time has been limited, with just one appearance in the Bundesliga this season. This situation is expected to continue as several players are ahead of him for selection. As a result, the 18-year-old is seriously considering leaving the club in January. BILD also confirms Southampton made an offer late in the summer.

Young Italian centre-back Luca Reggiani rejected a move to Southampton after the club made an offer for him on deadline day. German daily the Ruhr Nachrichten reported, via Spox, that Reggiani is considered the most likely candidate to depart Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming January transfer window. Southampton were not the only club interested in Reggiani during the summer, as he also had interest from AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Southampton FC submitted an offer to Borussia Dortmund for Luca Reggiani shortly before deadline day. However, a transfer did not occur, and the 18-year-old remains part of BVB's squad.

According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Borussia Dortmund has received an official offer from England for 18-year-old Italian centre-back Luca Reggiani. The journalist later specified that the bid was submitted by FC Southampton. In addition to this offer, several Serie A clubs, including Inter and AC Milan, are said to be monitoring the situation. A high transfer fee would be required to sign the right-footed player from BVB. Reggiani, who has one cap for Italy, joined Dortmund in March 2026 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €10.00m.
