Keven Schlotterbeck decided to seek a move from FC Augsburg because he lost his regular starting spot at the end of last season and faced diminished prospects for playing time. VfL Wolfsburg approached the 29-year-old German defender last week, but he rejected their interest and is now set to move abroad to Southampton. Schlotterbeck is expected at the Championship club for a medical check on Wednesday. With one year remaining on his contract, Augsburg is set to receive a transfer fee of €3.85 million, with an additional €650,000 possible in bonuses. The former Germany Olympic international joined Augsburg from SC Freiburg in July 2024 for a fee of €2.5M and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €6.00m.
