A report from TEAMtalk suggests that Josh Brownhill is of interest to Southampton. Southampton are seeking further midfield reinforcements before the start of next week. The club is reportedly close to re-signing James Ward-Prowse. Southampton is seeking additional midfield options after losing Shea Charles to Fulham and because of concerns over Caspar Jander's long-term future.

Southampton are keeping informed on the situation of Josh Brownhill, a 30-year-old English central midfielder, who could return to English football one year after leaving Burnley for Al Shabab. It is reported that the Saudi Pro League club is exploring ways to balance its spending, with Brownhill viewed as one of its most sellable assets. Southampton, who are assessing midfield reinforcements, would be interested if Al Shabab becomes open to negotiations. They are among a number of clubs tracking the player, including Hull City, West Ham, Coventry City, Birmingham City, Wrexham, and Wolves. Brownhill's contract with Al-Shabab expires in June 2027, and his current market value is €8.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
