According to The Athletic and the BBC, Chelsea have indicated their interest in signing the 27-year-old Luiz on loan for the second half of the 2025-26 season. Fabrizio Romano provided further confirmation and adds that it would be a short-term loan only. It has become unlikely that his obligation to buy will be activated at Nottingham Forest, which makes him an expendable player for Forest. The 26-year-old Brazilian, who recently transferred to Juventus from Aston Villa, has faced challenges in Serie A, prompting discussions of an early departure. This proposal could be appealing for Chelsea, considering Luiz's proven track record in English football. Furthermore, Luiz is also being considered for a return to Manchester City, where he could potentially replace the injured Rodri, adding a competitive edge to Chelsea's decision-making.
