Dastan Satpayev, a Kazakh centre-forward, was signed by Chelsea from Kazakhstan champions Kairat FC in the summer for a fee of £3.4m. The 18-year-old is on loan at Burnley but was prevented from playing against Charlton. He had recently missed four Championship matches due to a hamstring problem, for which he returned to Chelsea's Cobham training base for recovery management. After re-joining Burnley and playing as a substitute against Watford, Chelsea instructed the club not to include him in the squad for the midweek match against Charlton. Burnley boss Nicky Hayen explained that Chelsea did not permit Satpayev to feature because they were managing his workload with Burnley's medical staff after a significant injury. Hayen added that this was part of the season-long loan agreement from August. Satpayev's contract with Chelsea is valid until 2033. He has earned 8 caps and scored one goal for Kazakhstan. His market value is currently €5.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
