Nottingham Forest are among several clubs interested in Rangers' 19-year-old midfielder Bailey Rice, whose contract expires this summer and who is considered likely to leave Ibrox. The Scotland U21 international has received an initial offer from Bundesliga side Schalke, and it is also reported that Ajax is interested. Aston Villa, Sunderland, and West Brom have also been monitoring the situation. Despite this interest, Rangers have initiated talks to retain Rice and have indicated their reluctance to lose him. Rice joined Rangers in July 2024, and according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €800k. Reports in February and March 2026 noted that due to his expiring contract, a cross-border move to an English club would only require a 'cross-border compensation' fee.
