Blackburn Rovers are one of several Championship clubs interested in central midfielder Will Smallbone, and manager Tony Mowbray is personally interested in bringing him to Ewood Park. The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international is a free agent after his contract with Southampton expired this summer, which concluded an 18-year spell at the club.
