Portuguese clubs Porto and Benfica were interested in Portuguese striker Vivaldo Semedo earlier in the summer, and it was said that more concrete approaches came from other middling Liga Portugal sides. The 21-year-old Watford forward has now joined Portuguese club FC Alverca on loan until the end of the season to gain more first-team experience. The Portugal U21 international scored four goals and provided two assists in 26 Championship appearances for Watford last season. His contract with the English club runs until 2030, and the loan to Alverca reportedly includes a €3 million option to buy. Semedo's current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.80m.
