Mauro Icardi, the 33-year-old Argentine centre-forward, has been without a team for over one hundred days since his contract with Galatasaray ended on June 30, and is currently training individually in Argentina. A number of European clubs, including Benfica, Tottenham, PAOK Salonicco, Elche, Everton, Real Betis, and Besiktas, have observed his situation. Interest has also been shown from South America by Atletico Mineiro and San Paolo. Previously, Lazio had proposed a two-year contract worth a total of three million dollars, but the agreement was not completed, while Fiorentina and Udinese also considered him without reaching an agreement. His departure from Galatasaray was influenced by economic matters and the arrival of Victor Osimhen, after Icardi rejected a renewal offer of about five million dollars annually, which was half of his former salary. Icardi has been described as one of the most interesting players currently available, but despite the interest from numerous clubs, no formal proposal has been made. The forward, who has 8 caps and 1 goal for Argentina, has a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.00m.
