Victor Osimhen Transfer from Galatasaray to FC Barcelona
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Galatasaray will not permit a departure for Victor Osimhen during the winter transfer window and has dismissed the idea of their forward leaving. FC Barcelona is currently working on a transfer for the upcoming summer. Transfermarkt values the Nigerian at 75 million euros. He is under contract with the Turkish club until June 2029 and has an annual salary of 18,750,000 euros.
Victor Osimhen's agent, George Gardi, stated in an interview with Sky Germany that there was interest from FC Barcelona. Gardi added that Osimhen does not intend to leave Turkey for now.
It has been claimed that Barcelona have added Victor Osimhen to their transfer list. The transfer is considered difficult for the club due to its financial difficulties and the large transfer fee. According to Türkiye Gazetesi, Galatasaray will not respond to offers below 140 million euros for the player.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Victor Osimhen is on Barcelona's list of preferred attacking reinforcements, with his price described as exorbitant and comparable to that of Haaland or other targets. Galatasaray paid 75 million euros to acquire him from Napoli and signed him to a contract until 2029. Any potential move to Barcelona depends on the player's willingness to leave and the financial situation of the club. Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, has reduced the priority of both the contract renewal of Robert Lewandowski and the signing of a new striker, unless a market opportunity arises.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is interested in Victor Osimhen and is considering signing the striker next summer. Signing a new forward is one of their top priorities as they plan for the 2026-27 season and beyond, given the possibility that this is Robert Lewandowski's last season. A transfer for Osimhen would test Barcelona's financial capacity. The Nigerian star currently earns 15 million euros annually (13 million pounds/17.5 million dollars), and also receives a 1 million euro loyalty bonus and 5 million euros in image rights compensation. Galatasaray spent a league record of 75 million euros (65 million pounds/88 million dollars) to sign him on a four-year contract, and Barcelona will have to pay a very large fee for the striker.
Gabriel Sans told Radyospor that Victor Osimhen is definitely a player Barcelona want and is high on their list of desired players, and that it is certain they will make contact for him in 2026. Fabrizio Romano stated that Barcelona are making calls to keep informed on the striker market, where Osimhen is among several elite goalscorers the club is tracking. There is a clause in the Galatasaray player's contract which prevents him from joining an Italian club for two years.
Fabrizio Romano has said that rumours from Turkey and Spain have suggested Barcelona are considering Osimhen as one of their striker targets for summer 2026. Romano also said that Barcelona are studying the market for future strikers and that Robert Lewandowski’s contract situation is key. According to Romano, this is because Lewandowski is expected to leave when his deal expires, which is leading Barca to plan ahead. Romano stated that Osimhen is not negotiating with any club right now and that Barcelona are simply monitoring several players, gathering information, and preparing for future moves. Romano also stated this is standard practice and not active negotiation.
According to Spanish journalist Gabriel Sans of El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is monitoring Galatasaray's striker Victor Osimhen. Sans reported that the club needs a top striker for the upcoming season as Robert Lewandowski's continuation is not guaranteed. The journalist also confirmed that while Osimhen is on Barcelona's transfer list, no negotiations have occurred and the club's financial situation does not permit large investments.
