Birmingham City are reportedly still interested in signing FC Basel's winger, Philipe Otele, but are facing new competition. Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport reported that the Blues are set to compete with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the transfer. Jacobs also reported that Otele is expected to leave Basel this transfer window and that his current employers have lowered their minimum asking price to around €7m. A separate report claimed that a fee of between €8m and €10m could be enough to complete a deal. Otele is reportedly interested in a move to England. There was previous interest in him over the summer from Fulham, Sevilla, OGC Nice, VfB Stuttgart, and Borussia Mönchengladbach. Lazio, Celtic and AFC Bournemouth have also made inquiries.

The Blues may consider a transfer for Basel's Philip Otele this month.
