A potential loan deal for Ipswich Town's Anis Mehmeti could be an option for Birmingham City because it is uncertain how much game time the 25-year-old Albanian international will receive under Gary O'Neil following the club's promotion to the Premier League. Mehmeti joined Ipswich from Bristol City in a low-cost transfer in January and subsequently played 18 times, appearing as a substitute for one-third of those matches. Birmingham's interest in an attacking midfielder follows a reported failure to complete a deal with Leeds United for Joe Gelhardt.
