Beşiktaş has started planning for the next campaign after a season in the Trendyol Süper Lig that did not meet expectations. The club has identified 29-year-old Turkish goalkeeper Muhammed Şengezer as a leading candidate for its goalkeeper position. Beşiktaş is considering the potential departure of Ersin Destanoğlu, as his contract will expire at the end of the season. Consequently, the club has focused on Başakşehir's Şengezer for a domestic reinforcement. It is said that after the club contacted numerous other local and foreign goalkeepers, Şengezer emerged as the prominent option in the latest evaluations. It has been learned that manager Sergen Yalçın is in favor of the transfer. Additionally, reports indicate the management will make official moves shortly. The aim is to increase competition for the goalkeeper spot next season. Şengezer joined his current club in September 2019 and has a contract that is valid until June 30, 2028. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €2.50m, and he has not yet been capped for the Turkish national team.
