According to 'Sky', Aston Villa is now pursuing Borussia Mönchengladbach's 28-year-old German goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas, in whom Brentford has shown interest in the past. The pay-TV sender reports that Villa sees Nicolas as a potential successor to their current number one, Emiliano Martínez. It is also said that Nicolas himself can imagine a move to a top European club. Nicolas, who joined the club in July 2016, has made 12 appearances in the Bundesliga this season. The contract for the former Germany U21 international runs until 2029, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €5.00m.
