Kees Smit Transfer from AZ to FC Barcelona

According to Sky Sports, many major European clubs, including FC Barcelona, are following Kees Smit. AZ Alkmaar will not oppose the departure of Kees Smit and is asking for an amount of 25 million euros for him, which would be a record in the club's history.

Kees Smit is on the agenda of FC Barcelona. Ronald Koeman drew attention to Smit for Barça by comparing him to Pedri. The operation is considered difficult as FC Barcelona appears to have many young midfielders, along with ongoing economic problems at the club. AZ will not oppose the transfer of Kees Smit, but plans to set a new record for a sale, meaning the transfer fee must exceed the 22 million euros paid by Milan in 2023 for Tijjani Reijnders.

According to Transfermarkt, Barcelona are interested in AZ Alkmaar's Kees Smit. The 19-year-old is viewed as one of the best young midfielders in Europe.

Kees Smit is being tracked by Real Madrid. At the Under-21 national team camp, he told ESPN that he watches all of Barcelona's matches and that the club is his favorite.

According to the 'Daily Mail', Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, and Manchester United are all said to have sent their scouts to watch Smit.

FC Barcelona has already sent scouts to watch Kees Smit.

Kees Smit has also attracted interest from Barcelona. He told De Telegraaf in September that he had read he was on the radar of Real Madrid and Barcelona and that it made him proud.

Kees Smit's agent revealed to ESPN that several clubs, including FC Barcelona, are monitoring the young talent. Smit's remarkable performance at the youth European Championship, where he earned the titles of Player of the Tournament and joint top scorer, has attracted significant interest. Although there are rumors regarding a possible transfer to Ajax, Voetbal International has indicated that Ajax has not shown any interest, partly due to AZ's anticipated asking price likely exceeding Ajax's budget. AZ, on the other hand, is keen on extending Smit's contract, which is valid until 2028, with a strategy to eventually transfer him directly to a foreign club, bypassing a domestic intermediary step, akin to previous player transfers such as those involving Vangelis Pavlidis and Tijjani Reijnders. Meanwhile, clubs like FC Barcelona and Real Madrid continue to express interest in the promising young player.
