Burnley fan pundit Aaron Wright has suggested that Burnley should pursue a deal for Joël Piroe, a 26-year-old Dutch-Surinamese forward, as a potential replacement for Zian Flemming. Flemming is reportedly attracting serious interest from Brentford. Wright described the Leeds United forward as a proven Championship goalscorer who could provide the goals for an effort to gain promotion, citing his record of 73 goals in 179 second-tier appearances. The fan pundit stated his belief that Piroe could be signed for about £10m. He added that he doubts Piroe will play much at Leeds with players like Nmecha and DCL at the club. A move is seen as potentially beneficial for all parties, as Leeds are reportedly interested in moving the player on after he featured just 16 times last season. It is felt that Piroe needs a new club to regain confidence, while Burnley require additional goalscoring capability. Many other second-tier clubs are also expected to be interested in the striker. Piroe has one cap for Suriname, joined Leeds in August 2023, and has a contract until 2027. His current Transfermarkt market value is €10.00m.
