According to reports, the Hoops were monitoring Henrik Heggheim, and it was also claimed that Burnley, Sheffield United, and Stoke City had an interest in the 25-year-old Norwegian defender. Although Celtic are looking for centre-back options ahead of the January transfer window, the Viking player is not being seriously pursued at present. Heggheim, who has previous experience at Brøndby and a contract until 2028, may be linked with other clubs but is not believed to be a target for Celtic at this time. The current understanding is that Celtic's search is not focused on him, as the club looks to add depth in that position rather than perform a major rebuild. Heggheim joined Viking in August 2024 and has 18 caps for the Norway U21 team. In the 2025/2026 Eliteserien season, he has made 22 appearances, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists. His current market value is €1.80m, according to Transfermarkt.
