Leeds United have watched Sporting CP's 25-year-old Mozambique winger, Geny Catamo, in recent weeks while assessing attacking reinforcements. Several other Premier League clubs are also monitoring the player. Everton, Bournemouth, and Brentford have also been watching him. Sunderland are preparing another attempt to sign him in January following a failed summer bid. During the summer, Sporting insisted that Catamo's €60 million release clause would need to be met. The club's rejected summer packages were reportedly valued at around €40 million. Newcastle United have also reportedly scouted the winger. Catamo joined Sporting in July 2023, has 44 caps and 16 goals for Mozambique, and has a current market value of €35 million according to Transfermarkt.
