Bournemouth are one of several Premier League clubs that have watched Sporting CP's 25-year-old Mozambique winger Geny Catamo in recent weeks while assessing attacking reinforcements. Everton, Leeds, and Brentford have also been monitoring the player. The list of interested clubs, which also includes Newcastle United, could present a challenge for Sunderland, who made Catamo a primary target in the summer. During that previous transfer window, Sporting CP insisted that the player's €60 million release clause would need to be met. It was reported that Sporting CP rejected packages from Sunderland worth up to €40 million in August and September 2026. Catamo, who has 44 caps and 16 goals for Mozambique, is under contract until June 2029 and has a current market value of €35 million, according to Transfermarkt.
