Celtic have initiated discussions to sign French striker Elias Filet. Last season for the Swiss side Aarau, Filet scored 20 goals and provided 5 assists in 35 games, and was named the Challenge League's player of the season. The Scottish club reportedly accelerated their efforts with a video call to the 24-year-old's agent on Tuesday. Their priority is to agree personal terms before opening official negotiations with Aarau. Filet, who joined the club in January 2025, is entering the last year of his contract. Celtic face competition, with Belgian side Genk understood to have already submitted an offer and Lorient also believed to be preparing a bid. His current market value is €600k, according to Transfermarkt.
