Argentine attacking midfielder Claudio Echeverri is close to moving to Benfica from Manchester City on a loan deal that includes an option to buy. The 20-year-old, who spent the last season split between Bayer Leverkusen and Girona, had also been approached by Milan and Fiorentina. Echeverri joined Manchester City in January 2024 and his contract with the English club runs until 2028.
