Chelsea have completed a move to sign Chris Atherton, a 16-year-old Northern Ireland U17 international. He became the youngest senior footballer in the UK when he played at age 13. Glenavon confirmed his transfer to Chelsea, where he is expected to join the U18 team initially. Atherton, who made 32 appearances and scored one goal last season, primarily played as a right winger for Glenavon but can also feature off the left.
