Reports state that Preston North End is battling for a deal with 30-year-old English defender Ben Davies after his talks with Birmingham City collapsed. The defender, who has not been able to secure a place in the first team under the current management, saw negotiations for a return to Birmingham City fall through. According to The Lancashire Post, besides Preston North End, Oxford United is also in the race to sign him. His current contract expires on June 30, 2026, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €2.50m.
