The club is seeking a goalkeeper after Steven Benda was recalled by his parent club, Fulham. Patterson has attracted interest from several Championship clubs, with QPR, Southampton, and Leicester City having been previously linked to the player. A move to Millwall would see Patterson reunite with manager Alex Neil, who made Patterson the first-choice goalkeeper during their time together at Sunderland, where the keeper's current first-team opportunities have become limited. Patterson, who has one cap for the England U21 team, is under contract with Sunderland until June 2028 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €10.00m.
