Angel Gomes is undergoing a medical examination with Wolverhampton.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed a deal in principle to sign Angel Gomes on loan from Olympique Marseille. Wolves have secured approval from the French club for a season-long loan worth £866,000, with an option to buy set at around £6m. Team Talk reports that Wolverhampton Wanderers have finalised a loan agreement for Angel Gomes that includes an option to buy for £6 million (€7m / $8m). Activating that clause in the summer would still require the player’s approval. According to sources close to the deal, Gomes believes Rob Edwards’ style of play is well-suited to him, and the former Manchester United academy player sees the move as a suitable opportunity to renew his effort for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup plans. Wolves have increased the pace of talks since Tuesday and, subject to final checks, Gomes is expected to complete the move soon.
