Braga of Portugal rejected a proposal from Botafogo for 28-year-old Brazilian player Vítor Carvalho over the weekend. The offer from the Rio-based club consisted of a loan with a purchase option of around 2 million euros. However, Braga did not accept this model, as their preference is for a permanent sale or a deal with guarantees of a future definitive transfer. Coach Martín Anselmi had reportedly identified Carvalho, a natural defensive midfielder, as a potential option to play in the defensive line. Although the difference in preferred business models has complicated the negotiations, Botafogo remains interested in the player and is monitoring the situation, but no new proposal has been submitted.
