Fanatik has reported that Espanyol's interest in signing Viktor Tsygankov has not advanced because of his transfer fee and his high salary.

According to the Spanish sports outlet AS, Viktor Tsygankov has informed Girona by letter that he wants to leave the club. AS also reports that Espanyol are interested.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Espanyol is interested in Viktor Tsygankov and views him as a player who could raise the level of their squad. The primary obstacle for Espanyol is reportedly financial, and the club will have difficulty making a large payment unless all parties make an effort. Girona owns 50% of Tsygankov's rights, with Dynamo Kyiv holding the other half, and will not accept a deal for less than 15 million euros. Due to Girona's relegation, Tsygankov does not have a release clause, and there is no automatic reduction of his clause, which is set at 30 million euros.

Viktor Tsygankov's camp held two meetings on Thursday with interested clubs, identified as Espanyol and Ajax. Ajax's new manager Míchel, who worked with Tsygankov at Girona, asked the player to move to the Dutch club. The player is considering a departure following the club's relegation and would reportedly prefer to remain in Spain.
