Sevilla's sporting director, Antonio Cordón, has identified Rayo Vallecano's Spanish midfielder Unai López as a future target. Cordón values López's experience, performance, knowledge of La Liga, and his contract that runs until June 2026. Journalist Matteo Moretto reported Sevilla's interest in the 30-year-old player, and according to the same source, Girona and Mallorca are also pursuing him. It is also said that his former club Athletic Club and Real Sociedad are tracking his progress. López joined Rayo Vallecano in July 2022 and has scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists in 11 LaLiga appearances this season. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €2.50m. In response to the interest, Rayo Vallecano is reportedly considering offering López a contract renewal, which has not yet occurred.
