Askou acknowledged a late attempt was made but stated there was no discussion, adding that the plan was never for Maswanhise to leave at this time and it was a club decision.

According to Belgian expert Sacha Tavolieri, Anderlecht held discussions over a move for Tawanda Maswanhise on the transfer deadline day. The Belgian club, which was seeking attacking reinforcements, had prepared a three-and-a-half-year deal for the player.

Anderlecht hoped on Monday to strengthen their squad with Tawande Maswanhise. Motherwell coach Jens Berthel Askou told the BBC that Motherwell is not planning to cooperate with a transfer. Askou said that there can be talks when the right club comes at the right time and when they think it is time for him to make a move, but that is not the case now.

RSC Anderlecht is interested in Tawanda Maswanhise, a 23-year-old right-winger from Motherwell, and the two parties are reportedly in contact. Motherwell is said to be asking for a fee of around €3 million for the player, who is under contract until May 2027.
