McTominay can operate as a defensive midfielder or in a more advanced role. Napoli does not intend to sell McTominay in January. Consequently, any negotiations would need to wait until the end of the season, when Napoli might be more open to discussions, contingent on their financial situation and the player's wishes. His contract with Napoli runs until June 2028, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €50.00m. Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the midfielder.
