Sandro Tonali Transfer from Newcastle United to Arsenal

Fraser Fletcher confirmed Arsenal's interest in signing Sandro Tonali is genuine and that talks have been held with the player's representatives. However, Lee Ryder stated Newcastle have immediately dismissed suggestions regarding Arsenal and Sandro Tonali, and said that there had been no contact from Arsenal. Ryder added Sandro Tonali is contracted to Newcastle until 2029 with an option for an additional year, and that it would take an exceptional offer to sign him.

Following claims that Arsenal were exploring a move for Sandro Tonali, Sky Sports Germany reported that talks had taken place over a move, with Arsenal looking to do a deal before the 7pm deadline. However, Newcastle United have rejected suggestions that they are in talks with Arsenal over a deadline day move for Sandro Tonali. The Magpies dismissed any suggestion of Tonali departing, labelling the suggestion as stupid and complete rubbish.

Arsenal are reportedly exploring a transfer for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali following a serious foot injury to Mikel Merino. According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, there have been direct talks in the last couple of hours. Plettenberg also stated that it is very difficult to finalise the deal for now because Newcastle have not approved it, but that Arsenal are still trying to complete the transfer today. According to Sky Sports, Tonali recently signed a one-year contract extension at Newcastle United until 2029.

Arsenal have shown interest in Sandro Tonali late in the transfer window. According to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, the club has explored the possibility of a move for the Newcastle United midfielder on the final day of the transfer window. Newcastle United has rejected an initial approach and have made their position clear that Tonali is not for sale. It is understood that Newcastle have ended negotiations and that only an exceptionally high offer would lead to internal discussions. Florian Plettenberg reported that while the interest is genuine, the chances of a deal being completed are very low this late in the transfer window.

Arsenal is considering signing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and is prepared to make a large financial offer. It has been reported that a first bid for the Italian midfielder was rejected, with manager Eddie Howe suggesting that Jamaal Lascelles is the only player who could potentially leave. Tonali joined Newcastle on a five-year contract in July 2023 but was suspended for ten months in October for breaching betting regulations.
