Queens Park Rangers have identified Wigan Athletic's English goalkeeper Sam Tickle as a key target for their summer goalkeeping rebuild, which comes after the confirmed departures of Paul Nardi and Ben Hamer. According to Alan Nixon, QPR are targeting the 24-year-old, who joined Wigan in July 2023 and was named in the League One Team of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign. He has previously attracted interest from clubs including Preston North End, Sunderland, and Sheffield United. It is believed that The R’s are preparing a bid. Alan Nixon states that a fee between £1.5 million and £2 million could be required to complete a deal. This figure is noted as being lower than what would have been needed for previous attempts to sign him. Tickle signed a new four-year contract with Wigan 12 months ago. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.20m.
