Queens Park Rangers had been linked with Liverpool's 22-year-old English left-back Luke Chambers earlier in the summer, but their interest in him has reportedly diminished. This has left Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth competing to sign him, with Portsmouth now understood to be leading the effort. According to journalist Alan Nixon, Pompey believe they have the best chance of signing the defender. Blackburn had previously been confident of signing him. Chambers, who joined Liverpool in July 2022, has a contract with the club until 2027.
