According to West London Sport, Queens Park Rangers and Southampton have reached an agreement on a £4.5 million deal for Ronnie Edwards, who is a 22-year-old English centre-back. Edwards, who was on loan at Loftus Road for the second half of the previous season, is interested in the transfer and is expected to undergo a medical with Rangers in the next 24 hours. Queens Park Rangers had previously attempted to sign Edwards during the summer without success. The transfer will yield a £1.5 million profit for Southampton. The club had reportedly acquired the defender from Peterborough United for £3 million. Edwards has had limited playing time at Southampton and has been omitted from the club's recent matchday squads. The England U21 international has two caps and is under contract with Southampton until 2028. He has made 11 appearances in the Championship this season. His market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €3.80m.
