According to Krone.at, Lazio Rome have renewed their interest in Romano Schmid.

Lazio is interested in Werder Bremen's 26-year-old Austrian player, Romano Schmid, following a request from manager Rino Gattuso for a new midfielder. The midfielder's contract with the German club is set to expire in June 2027. Leeds United was also linked with the player, and reports in January 2026 suggested a potential agreement for approximately €15 million.
