In August 2026, reports indicated Daniel Maldini's loan to Cagliari included a €1 million fee and an €8 million purchase option. Prior to this, in July 2026, it was reported Atalanta's asking price was around €14 million, with other reports in June 2026 suggesting a price over €10 million. His previous loan to Lazio, which began in January 2026, reportedly involved a €1 million loan fee and a purchase option valued between €13-€15 million, which was ultimately not exercised. During that same window, Lazio was also linked with a conditional €10 million obligation to buy. Atalanta's initial purchase from Monza in February 2025 was for a fee of €10 million.

Our valuation is driven by the most recent transfer agreement for Daniel Maldini, which saw him join Cagliari on loan from Atalanta. This deal reportedly includes an €8 million purchase option, representing the most current market-tested value. This figure is lower than the unexercised €14 million option from his prior loan to Lazio and closer to the €10 million fee Atalanta paid in February 2025, suggesting a market correction and forming the basis for our range.
