Roger Martínez Transfer from Al Taawoun to Boca Juniors

Boca Juniors president Juan Román Riquelme is targeting 31-year-old Colombian international and former Racing Avellaneda player Roger Martínez as a major signing to strengthen the squad for their return to the Copa Libertadores. To facilitate the move, the club may first need to sell attacker Milton Jiménez. Argentinian media suggests that the funds from a potential sale to a club in Brazil or the MLS could enable a special signing. Martínez is currently contracted to Al-Taawoun in Saudi Arabia until June 2026, and any deal would probably require a fee of approximately 15 million dollars, with the additional challenge of persuading the player to leave his current club. The centre-forward, who joined Al-Taawoun in January 2025, has 28 caps and 4 goals for Colombia. In the current Saudi Pro League season, he has recorded 2 goals and 1 assist in 6 appearances.
