Richarlison Transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Orlando City
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham and Brazilian forward Richarlison is being targeted by Major League Soccer team Orlando City, with the club presenting a project for a summer 2026 move.
According to Fabrizio Romano, following up on news from ESPN, Orlando from MLS made a long-term vision approach for Richarlison, not a contract proposal. The club's directors arrived in London in recent days and met with people close to Richarlison to present a potential project for the future. Orlando have an interest and ambition in trying to sign Richarlison. It is still very early, with no formal proposal and no financial terms discussed. Orlando's message to Richarlison was that they like him, are interested in him, and to see what will happen in the near future. Fabrizio Romano stated that Orlando have genuine interest in Richarlison. Romano also said Orlando cannot pay an important transfer fee, which is why it is an unlikely story for today, but one to keep an eye on for the future. The club has genuine interest in Richarlison and it could be an interesting story to follow for the Brazilian's future.
According to ESPN, Orlando City recently failed in an attempt to sign the 28-year-old Brazilian forward Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur with a 'career project' proposal. The MLS club's strategy involved a long-term contract to make the forward the team's main figure ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The primary obstacle was Tottenham's asking price of around 40 million euros, a figure which was not even considered by the American side. During the last European summer transfer window, Richarlison had also been a target for clubs in Saudi Arabia and Italy, but he decided to remain at Tottenham for at least another season to compete for his place in the Brazilian national team. The player's contract with Spurs is valid until December 2027. His market value is currently estimated by Transfermarkt to be €20 million.
