Watford are close to an agreement to sign Saint-Etienne's French and Ghanaian midfielder Pierre Ekwah. The 24-year-old former Sunderland player joined his current club permanently last summer after an initial loan spell but has not featured due to a dispute over the transfer. It is reported that Ekwah had reservations about joining the team following their relegation from Ligue 1. He may now move to the Hornets on loan for the rest of the season. He has five caps for France. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €3.00m. Rangers and Udinese have also been linked with the player.
