Lincoln City sporting director Jez George revealed that the newly promoted Championship side had to overcome competition from around 30 clubs to sign Mason Melia. George stated that Lincoln City first enquired with Tottenham about the player in January.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday that Lincoln City had agreed a deal to sign Mason Melia on loan from Tottenham. Melia's move to the Midlands-based club has since been confirmed.

Mason Melia has undergone his medical at Lincoln today ahead of finalising his loan move to the Championship club.

Lincoln City, a newly promoted Championship club, are set to sign 18-year-old Irish forward Mason Melia from Tottenham on a season-long loan and are hoping to complete the deal within the next 48 hours. Melia, who joined Tottenham in January 2026, has two senior caps for the Republic of Ireland.
