City have completed the loan signing of right winger Chieo Ogbene from Premier League side Ipswich Town until January. Sporting director Jez George said that they have tried to identify a player with Ogbene’s profile for the wide right position in their team all summer, so they are delighted with the signing at the end of the transfer window. George also stated that to have managed to sign him against far bigger and more established clubs in the Championship indicates how Ogbene sees them and what he values most in the move. The sporting director thanked Ipswich Town and Ogbene’s representatives for their help in the process.

Chieo Ogbene has joined Lincoln City on a loan from Ipswich Town that runs until January.

Ipswich Town winger Chiedozie Ogbene is set to join Championship club Lincoln City on loan ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline, having also been linked with Charlton Athletic, Derby County, and Stoke City. Lincoln City have agreed a deal with Ipswich Town for the 29-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who has earned 35 caps and scored 5 goals for his country. The move is understood to be a half-season loan until January. Ogbene, who has two years remaining on his contract and a current market value estimated by Transfermarkt at €4.00m, joined Ipswich from Luton Town for an £8m fee in the summer of 2024, but an Achilles injury ended his Premier League season that October. He subsequently spent the previous season on loan at Sheffield United.
