Charlton have signed 21-year-old English left-back Luke Chambers on loan from Liverpool for the rest of the season. Chambers, who joined Liverpool's academy at the age of six, has played four times for Jurgen Klopp's first team in the 2023-24 season in the Europa League and EFL Cup. He has previous loan experience at Kilmarnock and Wigan. Charlton manager Nathan Jones said that adding a left-sided defender had been a key priority this transfer window, noting that the club had been monitoring Chambers for some time. Jones described Chambers as technically excellent, athletic, and a progressive passer. The defender is the Addicks' third signing of the January window. Chambers has 6 caps for the England U20 team.
