Charlton Athletic has signed central defender Conor Coady on loan from Wrexham until the end of the season. Wrexham is also a Championship club.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Charlton have agreed a loan deal with Wrexham for Conor Coady until the end of the season. Coady is expected to bring experience and leadership to the Charlton squad. There are concerns regarding his performances at Wrexham, where he played five times and was subject to fierce criticism for his displays. FLW’s Charlton Athletic fan pundit Chris Woodward stated that Coady is likely to have a significant influence in the dressing room and may not receive much game-time.

The Mirror states that Conor Coady is likely to depart Wrexham approximately six months after his £2 million arrival from Leicester City. The former England centre-back has played only six times and could move to Charlton Athletic. According to Sky Sports, there is not yet an agreement on the portion of Coady’s salary that Charlton Athletic will pay. The report states that the London club cannot afford his entire salary and suggests a half-and-half compromise.
