Josh Quarshie, 22, joined Sturm Graz on a deal until the end of the season in August, after playing zero minutes at Saints this term. Quarshie was sporting director Johannes Spors' first signing at St Mary's, costing around £3million to purchase from Hoffenheim. Head coach Tonda Eckert insisted the left-footed centre-back has a future role, but that he needed to add to his 50 senior appearances. Eckert stated that the decision was made that it is best for him to play regularly.

Joshua Quarshie made his European debut for Sturm Graz in midweek. It was his first clean sheet for Austrian Sturm Graz in his fourth appearance. He made his debut as a late substitute in a 3-1 defeat to Rapid Vienna last month but is now the first-choice player in his position.

Sturm Graz have announced they have signed Joshua Quarshie, a 22-year-old German central defender and current Germany Under 21 international, on a one-year loan from Southampton FC. Joshua Quarshie stated that he immediately had a very positive feeling after meeting the team and is eager to play as soon as possible, make a full effort, and win games. He also said that the SK Sturm directors presented him with a very interesting project that convinced him, adding that he wants to help the team achieve its significant goals in the league, cup and European competitions. Sporting director Michael Parensen commented that following Jeyland Mitchell's departure, they wanted to add a player with a similar profile to their defense and were successful with the signing of Joshua Quarshie. Parensen added that Joshua received excellent training in Germany, possesses enormous speed, brings a very important physical component to his game and is very good with both feet. The club is very happy that Joshua will strengthen them this season and is eager to see him on the pitch.

According to Krone.at, Joshua Quarshie has joined Sturm Graz from English second division club Southampton on a one-year loan. Sturm-Geschäftsführer Michael Parensen stated that after the departure of Jeyland Mitchell, the club wanted to add a defender with a similar profile and did so with the signing of Joshua Quarshie. Quarshie expressed excitement about the club's plan and his new chapter.
