According to reports from Oxford, Lincoln City were linked with Cheltenham Town's English winger Jordan Thomas during the winter window. It was also reported that Barnsley were interested in the player during that same period. Barnsley had previously had a bid for him rejected in July 2025. Thomas, who scored six goals in 39 League Two appearances last season, is now a free agent after his departure from Cheltenham. Before he joined the EFL, there had been reported interest in him from Championship clubs Bristol City, Swansea City, and Cardiff City. Current reports indicate the 25-year-old is close to a move to Oxford United, and there was never any suggestion that Lincoln were close to pursuing a deal.
