Swansea City have confirmed Joel Ward as their first signing of the winter window. Ward had been without a club since leaving Crystal Palace upon the expiry of his contract at the end of last season. The defender has signed a short-term deal until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Swansea City are set to sign former Crystal Palace captain Joel Ward on a deal until the end of the season, with the club close to finalising a contract with the 36-year-old. Ward, who can play at right-back or in central defence, has been without a club since his 13-year period at Selhurst Park concluded last summer. Swansea have been looking for a player to provide competition for Josh Key.
