According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Brentford's English left-back Jayden Meghoma is to join Portsmouth. This development follows recent discussions about a potential return to Rangers for the 20-year-old, who spent the 2025-26 season on loan at the Scottish club. It had been reported that Rangers were deciding between signing Meghoma and James Penrice, and ultimately chose the latter. Witcoop claims the defender is expected to be the first of three new arrivals at the Championship side before the 11pm transfer deadline on Tuesday. Meghoma has been capped three times by England U20, joined Brentford in August 2024, and has a contract until 2028. His current market value is €2.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
