Zeidane Inoussa was omitted from Vitor Matos' 25-man Championship squad. Last month, divisional rivals, Portsmouth, had shown interest in Inoussa, and he was linked with a loan to Fratton Park. However, Portsmouth manager John Mousinho spent £2.5m on Burton Albion's Tyrese Shade instead.

A fitness concern was the reason Zeidane Inoussa's move to Portsmouth did not proceed in the summer window.

The proposed season-long loan for Swansea City's 24-year-old Swedish winger Zeidane Inoussa to Portsmouth did not proceed. An agreement between the clubs had been reached, but the deal was not completed. Inoussa, a Sweden U21 international, joined Swansea in July 2025 and has a contract until June 2030. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €4.50m.
